Gotta love our Michigan weather

Winter is surely holding on which can be hard on our young animals. Here are some tips as we continue this cold weather.Pigs will need a warm place to sleep that is draft free, has heat lamp, and deep warm bedding. This is essential for the health of your pigs. Pigs that are cold will not gain weight because their body is burning everything it has to stay warm. Watch for runny noses, deep hoarse coughing, and thumping chests, tails down, hunched up . If you notice any of those symptoms contact a veterinarian quickly. Great rule of thumb…if you wouldn’t sleep there neither should your pigs.
